Job Description:

Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts is Sri Lanka’s largest operator of star class hotels with a portfolio of over 2000 rooms divided among two city hotels and eleven resort hotels, situated in prime locations in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
Cinnamon Bentota Beach, Bentota which is reborn in its total harmony with the cultural resources of the island, is due to open mid 2019. An exciting opportunity has arisen for lifestylist to join the pre-opening team at Cinnamon Bentota Beach, Bentota. The Lifestylist is someone whose charm goes beyond a smile; someone who can work a room just by being present; someone who knows how to use the essence of Sri Lankan hospitality on an international level. Your journey with our guests will begin the moment they arrive and go on until the time of their departure. You will be their eyes and ears, their bank of knowledge and their guide to everything around them. You should be able to make conversation; add to their relaxation or point them in the right direction.

You will also be required to handle a series of routine based tasks, which you will be briefed on, should you be the chosen one. You will report to the Front Office Manager of the resort to which you will come on board as its Lifestylist.

Night Manager

Sri Lanka, Cinnamon Bentota Beach

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide upscale guest service experiences for clients throughout their stay
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Monitor daily bookings and ensure assigned rooms are prepared prior to check-in
  • Oversee check-in and check-out procedures, including reservations and financial transactions
  • Actively listen to and resolve complaints
  • Coordinate and manage communication between guests and staff and follow up to ensure we resolve customer concerns
  • Liaise with other relevant departments to provide an overall comfortable guest experience
  • Examine daily duties, assign tasks and check on progress
  • Establish friendly relationships with regular hotel clients 
  • Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures
Key Competencies Required:
  • Have At least 8 years’ experience in handling duties of a hotel front office (Reception) in a leading hotel, out of which at least 3 years should be as a Night Manager.
  • Possess a Diploma in Hotel Management specializing in Front Office Operations 
  • Be Fluent in English
  • Have Leadership Skills & Exceptional communication skills

Front Office Manager

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervising the overall activities and being responsible for all front office operations.
  • Maintaining an excellent rapport with tour operators, co – operate, web reservation clients concerning bookings, reservations and other areas, which deemed necessary and answering inquiries pertaining to hotel reservations, policies and services and resolving guest complaints.   
  • Promoting in-house facilities and monitoring and controlling the front office operation in the areas of revenue, expenditure, profitability and performance against the plan.
  • Monitoring and controlling the inventories for operating equipment and supplies.
  • Coordination of information exchange between departments within the front office and direct exchange of information with all departments.
  • Identification of training needs development of formal training plans and execution of training programs and monitoring standards of conduct, grooming and ensuring proper hygiene standards of Front Office Staff.
  • Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Recruit, manage, train and develop the Front Office team
Key Competencies Required:
  • Possess a Diploma in Front Office from a recognized Hotel School.
  • Have at least 7 years executive level experience in a 5-star Hotel or possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in Front office in which a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Pre-Opening experience preferred
  • Proven track record in successfully launching new concepts.
  • Proven track record in training and developing staff

Guest Service Officer (Storyteller)

Sri Lanka, Cinnamon Bey Beruwala

Job Responsibilities:
  • Meeting, greeting and directing guests who enter the lobby area
  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the story of Beruwala and communicating it to the guests
  • Showing creativity with ideas and acting the short script on the story of Beruwala (concept of the Hotel) in Themed Nights and at suitable seasonal time periods in order to enhance the overall image and warmth of this area
  • Ensuring a very high level of customer service and interaction at ‘Ruwala’ Restaurant
  • Coordinating the Cooking Master Class and farewell bidding 
  • Seeking verbal feedback from customers on a regular basis and responding to all guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensuring high level of guest engagement to deliver a stellar service
  • Encouraging guests to share their experiences and visual content on social media
Key Competencies Required:
  • Full or part qualification in Drama/ Theatre studies/ Performing Arts or an equivalent qualification
  • Ability to listen and respond to demanding Guest needs
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for delivering an exceptional level of Guest service 
  • Flexibility to respond to a variety of different work situations
