Bird and Butterfly Trail
Bird and Butterfly Trail – Habarana Village by Cinnamon ~
The ecosystem around us at Habarana Village was carefully designed to invite nature in all forms. Thankfully, nature responded in a chirpy, colourful pattern. 48 species of birds and 50 different kinds of butterflies flock around in our abode seasonally. So, make the most of it when you’re here. Wake up a little early in the morning and take a walk around our expansive gardens and spot them freely going about their business.
While you walk with our naturalist, he'll tell you endearing stories about bird behaviour, and you might serendipitously find a young eagle screeching atop a branch. It's either a mating call or just the eagle being itself. Alongside our endless pathways, you'll spot kingfishers and whistling teals darting across trees.
Walk a little further, close to our organic garden, and you'll see butterflies fluttering around bushes that have been planted especially to attract them. While the tiger butterfly is the most common variety, there are others in colours that leave you in awe of nature’s creativity.
