Assistant Housekeeper

Sri Lanka, Cinnamon Bentota Beach

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper in overall operations of the Housekeeping department and financial performance including budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for Housekeeping. 
  • Maintaining set standards in the rooms & public areas of the hotel and issuing work orders & organizing pest control in order to ensure that the standards set by the company are maintained.
  • Managing operating expenses to minimize costs while providing excellent guest services.
  • Assist in monitoring consumption and ordering replacements of cleaning equipment and supplies. 
  • Being constantly alert for new methods, techniques, equipment and materials that will improve operations at reduced costs.
  • Conducting regular inspections of the hotel to ensure brand standards are maintained at all times. 
  • Ensuring all guest rooms are in adherence with MQS’s and ensuring optimal service levels are delivered to guests at all times. 
  • Team member Development 
Key Competencies Required:
  • Possess sound understanding of Housekeeping operations and current market trends with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Housekeeping operations with at least 3 years at a managerial level.

Executive Housekeeper

Job Responsibilities:
  • Overall operations of the Housekeeping department and financial performance including budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for Housekeeping.
  • Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures
  • Inspect guest rooms and all Housekeeping areas on a regular basis to ensure furnishing, facilities and equipment are well maintained and are in good condition.
  • Managing operating expenses to minimize costs while providing excellent guest services.
  • Being constantly alert for new methods, techniques, equipment and materials that will improve operations at reduced costs.
  • Conducting regular inspections of the hotel to ensure brand standards are maintained at all times.
  • Ensuring all guest rooms are in adherence with MQS’s and ensuring optimal service levels are delivered to guests at all times.
  • Team member Development
Key Competencies Required:
  • Possess a Diploma in Housekeeping from a recognized Hotel School with 6 years’ executive level experience in a 5-star Hotel or possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in Housekeeping operations in which a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar capacity.

Assistant Housekeeper

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the Executive Housekeeper in overall operations of the housekeeping department
  • To ensure the staff of the Housekeeping department cleans and maintains guest rooms and public spaces in accordance with brand standards of product and service
  • Managing operating expenses to minimize costs while providing excellent guest services 
  • Work closely with maintenance department to ensure that maintenance and repairs involving guest rooms and public areas are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensures that all housekeeping associates have been thoroughly trained and are consistently following company service standards and procedures
  • Assisting the Executive Housekeeper to Maintain an accurate inventory of linens, uniform and operating supplies and ensure that procedures are followed to maintain an adequate supply
  • Review outside laundry facility servicing to ensure quality, undamaged linens and consistent delivery and recordkeeping
  • Maintain all assets of the department, equipment, supplies and storage are locked and secured
  • Attend to any guest complaints and take necessary service recovery measures 
  • Review the housekeeping points on the guest feedback, take actions on guest complaints and share guest compliments with staff members
  • Rewards employees who use their empowerment to meet or exceed guest expectations
Key Competencies Required:
  • Possess sound understanding of Housekeeping operations and current market trends with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in housekeeping operations at a star class hotel with at least 3 years in a similar role.
