Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are all Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts properties open now?

Yes, all Cinnamon properties are fully operational as of 1st December 2025.

2. Which resorts were affected by the recent weather?

A few resorts experienced temporary interruptions:

• Cinnamon Lodge Habarana
• Habarana Village by Cinnamon
• Cinnamon Citadel Kandy
• Kandy Myst by Cinnamon
• Trinco Blu by Cinnamon

All have since resumed normal operations.

3. Are current and upcoming bookings affected in any way?

No. All bookings, arrivals, and most activities are continuing as scheduled across our entire portfolio.

4. Is it safe to stay at the resorts now?

Yes. Guest safety protocols were upheld throughout the weather changes, and all resorts are operating safely.

5. Were any guests impacted during the adverse weather?

No guests were harmed. Everyone in house remained safe, and resort teams were on site to always support guests.

6. Can guests go ahead with their planned excursions and activities?

Cinnamon Lodge Habarana and Habarana Village by Cinnamon have now resumed their excursions. However, a few cultural and excursion sites remain temporarily closed as safety and clearance procedures are still underway. We will share updates from the authorities as soon as these sites are ready to welcome visitors again.

• Please note that all water related excursions will remain suspended until further notice.
• At Cinnamon Citadel Kandy, all excursions are active except those involving water activities.
• At Trinco Blu by Cinnamon, excursions are currently limited due to the off-season.

7. Should guests expect any delays or limited services?

No, services across all properties have returned to full capacity.

8. What is Cinnamon doing to support affected communities?

We are working with the John Keells Group and John Keells Foundation on community recovery initiatives in impacted areas.

9. Where can I find official updates?

10. Can I request to move my booking due to personal concerns?

Yes, standard modification and cancellation policies apply. Our reservations team will assist on a case by case basis.

11. Is transport to and from the resorts functioning normally?

Yes, transport routes to all properties are currently operating as normal. However, areas such as Kandy may require the use of alternative routes when traveling from Colombo.

12. Were any facilities damaged?

No major damage was reported. All guest facilities are safe and fully functional.

13. Can we confirm check-in and check-out times remain unchanged?

Yes, all standard operating hours remain in place.

14. Are the pools at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana and Habarana Village by Cinnamon ready to use?

Guests are welcome to use the Habarana Village by Cinnamon pool until the Cinnamon Lodge Habarana pool reopens on 9th December 2025.

15. Is the airport operating normally?

As of the current update we have received, Sri Lanka’s international airports are fully functional, with flights arriving and departing as scheduled. For more updates, please visit: www.airport.lk
